Myllyn Pyöräily welcomes all participants to enjoy a cycling and roller skating event for active people on the 25th of August 2007. The event centre will be located between the Commercial Centre Mylly and Bauhaus.  

Arriving to the Commercial Centre Mylly:

The Commercial Centre is located along the E18 highway a few kilometres from Raisio towards Helsinki. You will find more spesific instructions on how to get there from the website of the Centre www.kauppakeskusmylly.fi and here is a map of the surroundings of the Centre.

Schedule for the event:

Friday, 24.8.

A Myllyn Pyöräily Info Desk will be open at the Commercial Centre Mylly from (the time will be announced later on). It is possible to pick up one’s participation numbers in advance or to enrol to the event at the Info Desk.

Saturday, 25.8.

-         7 o’clock: the event office will be opened for the participants.

-         Between 8 and 13.30 o’clock: the participation confirmations and late entries in the start/finish area.

-         From 8.00: Start: Skandianviamylly.

-         From 11.00 to 11.30: Starts: Jättimylly, Isomylly (Jättimylly riders first)

-         From 11.30 to 12.00: Starts: roller skaters, 42 km and 21 km.

-         From 13.00 to 13.30: Starts: Myllyn Pyöräretki riders start their own group

-         9.00-18.00 The stores of Mylly are open to customers

-         At 21.00: The finish area of Myllyn Pyöräily will be closed

Parking:

Parking is possible at the parking space of Commercial Centre Mylly, preferably on the area right next to the event centre.

Route map:

A map of the event routes will be in the event office.

Equipment storage, toilet, dressing rooms and showers:

Equipment storage will be provided to all participants at the start/finish area. Dressing room and shower facilities are located at the school of Kuloinen, approximately 500 m from the event centre. The route to Kuloinen will be marked. There are toilets in the start/finish area and also at some service points in the course: in Nousiainen and Askainen as well as in Lieto and Paattinen for the Skandinaviamylly participants.  

Start:

- Lining up for the start will take place in the start/finish area ten minutes before each start.

- There is no official timekeeping in the event nor any race categories. There will be a total performance time clock in the event centre, which will be started at 8 o’clock when the first start take off.

Route marking:

- Participants ought to familiarise themselves beforehand with the route description in the participant’s guide as well as with the route map in the start area.

- The route will be marked with:

o       Road paintings

o       marking bands

o       km to the next servicepoint

o       signs with the Myllyn Pyöräily – logo  

Participation numbers:

- All participants must have a participation number that should be attached on the front of one’s shirt.

- The participation gift as well as the meal at the finish area will be provided only in exchange for a check coupon, which is on the participation number.

 

Service:

- Participants will be provided with a comprehensive food- and drink service.

- The service points can be contacted through the event office.

- The service points:

o       Roller skating: one service point on the route and one in the start/finish area

Traffic safety:

- The use of a cycling helmet on all Myllyn Pyöräily routes is obligatory.

- All roller skaters are obliged to use a helmet as well. Other protective gear is recommended. The use of poles is not prohibited, but they may not be longer than the skater him/herself.

- Participants must follow traffic rules and regulations and keep to the marked routes.

- All participants in Myllyn Pyöräily are liable for their own actions.

Roller skating marathon (with or without poles): safety, courtesy:

The event is not a competition and everybody is liable for themselves. Traffic regulations and rules set by the organiser must be followed at all times. Skating next to one another and swinging the poles from side to side should be avoided. If passing by others, notify in advance. The speeds in mass events are high, so all turns must be anticipated.


Finish:

- All participants will receive a warm meal and drink.

- Everyone reaching the finish must  sign themselves off.

Abandoning:

- In case a participant abandons the ride, he or she must inform the organiser in the event centre or the nearest service point.

Liability:

- The participants are not ensured by the organiser.

- Everyone taking part in the event is liable for themselves.

Cancelling the participation:

In case of an illness, the participation fee will be moved on to the next year’s Myllyn Pyöräily.

Medical service, first aid:

- A first aid point will be located in the start/finish area.

- On the route first aid will be provided by the service points.

 

 

Routes: Mylly Roller Skating takes place routes that are separate from the cycling. The skating section of Turun Urheiluliitto is responsible for the route arrangements together with the Finnish Skating Federation. The start and finish area of the skating is located by the Commercial Centre Mylly similarly to the cycling.

The entry is final upon the arrival of the payments. The fee is determined by the time of entry. The personal information of the participant may be given ether on the internet, by e-mail, fax or post, or as a message of the payment – the choice is yours.

Those, who make the payment after the 18nd of August, must be prepared to present a receipt of the payment at the registration desk of the happening.
